Jokes anyone? ..think they're funny?
1 A farmer who's been involved in a terrible road accident with a large truck ended up in court fighting for a big compensation claim. "I understand you're claiming damages for the injuries you're supposed to have suffered?" Stated the counsel for the insurance company. "Yes, that's right," replied the farmer, nodding his head. "You claim you were injured in the accident, yet I have a signed police statement that says that when the attending police officer asked you how you were feeling, you replied, 'I've never felt better inn my life.' Is that the case?" "Yeah, but" stammered the farmer. "A simple yes or not will suffice," counsel interrupted quickly. "Yes," Replied the farmer. Then it was the turn of the farmer's counsel to ask him questions. "Please tell the court the exact circumstance of events following the accident when you made your statement of health," his lawyer said. "Certainly," replied the farmer. "After the accident my horse was thrashing around with a broken leg and my poor old dog was howling in pain. This cop comes along, takes one look at my horse and shoots him dead. "Then he goes over to my dog, looks at him and shoots him dead too. Then he come straight over to me and asked me how I was feeling. "Now, mate, what the heck would you have said to him?"2 A policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but was not getting many. Then, he discovered the problem; a 10 year old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign which read, "SPEED TRAP AHEAD". The officer then found a young accomplice down the road with a sign painted "TIPS" and a bucket of change.
3 The drunken wino was stumbling down the street with one foot on the curb and one foot in the gutter. A cop pulled up and said, "I've got to take you in, sir. You're obviously drunk" The wasted wino asked, "Ociffer, are ya absolutely sure I'm drunk?" "Yeah, buddy, I'm sure," said the copper. "Let's go." Obviously relieved, the wino said "That's a relief - I thought I was a cripple."
4 A middle aged woman was driving through a school zone when a policeman pulled her over for speeding. As he was giving her the ticket, she said, "How come I always get a ticket and everyone else gets a warning? Is it my face?" "No, ma'am," explained the officer, "it's your foot."
5 During a flood in a small Ohio town, a young girl was perched on top of a house with a little boy. As they sat watching articles float along with the water, they noticed a baseball cap float by. Suddenly, the cap turned and came back, then turned around and went downstream. After it had gone some distance, it turned again and came back. "Do you see that baseball cap?" said the girl. "First it goes downstream, then turns around and comes back." "Oh, that's my dad," replied the boy. "This morning he said that come hell or high water, he was going to cut the grass today."
6 "Dad," said Rickey, "what is electricity?" "Uh," replied his father, "I don't really know too much about electricity." A few minutes later the boy said, "How does gas make the engine go?" "Son, I'm afraid I don't know much about motors." "Dad," said the boy, "what is anthropology?" "Anthropology?" The father frowned. "I really don't know." "Gee, Dad, I guess I'm making a nuisance of myself." "Not at all, son. If you don't ask questions, you'll never learn anything."
"Son, you sure do ask a lot of questions," said the father. "I'd like to know what would have happened if I'd asked as many questions when I was a boy." "Perhaps," said the boy, "you'd've been able to answer some of mine."
Question #3:
is my story okay so far, or is it kinda lame?
for one of my projects in english class we have to write a story about the journey of a hero, i have just wrote the intro so far but, what do you think, is it good, okay, or lame? thank you!It was another gloomy Saturday morning, and Scott Sherman was doing what he did the last Saturday of every other month, packing. He had been used to doing this ever since his parents had gotten divorced two years ago. His mother, a rather large, unemployed woman, who despite all odds won the mega lottery of 87,000,000.00 (after taxes) divorced his father, Lawrence, an eccentric, almost equally large man, who, for a living wrote sci-fi novels and now lived in his mother’s basement in Acorn, Ohio. His mother, decided to stay put in their small town of Lyons, Georgia.
Scott never fit in anywhere. He was a short, scrawny kid with constantly ruffled, short, flaming red hair. Also, Scott had a hormone deficiency problem; this prevented him from ever having hair anywhere but his head. Scott, having all these problems found that the only way to rid himself of his inner teen angst was to punch things in a quarter lunge position. He thought about these things as he continued to pack his items.
Once Scott was finished packing he made his way out to his truck, which his mother kept in immaculate condition. He threw his bag in the bed of the truck and then got into the front seat and proceeded to ponder what he and his father would do now that it was summer break and he did not have to attend the school that he hated so much. He looked down at his digital watch and realized that he had been sitting in the car for like, ten minutes and his mother still hadn’t come out, so he honked the horn. As it beeped he shouted,
“Mama! Get out here we’re late!”
“Hold on I am on the phone!”
He had no patience “Mama!”
“I will whoop you boy!”
He decided that it was best if he was quiet now. Then, a few minutes later his now, seemingly enraged mother came out.
“Scott,” she said, “I just got off with the shelter.
“I already told them I can’t work, and they should know why. Besides there’s like 200 people in this town, it isn’t difficult to keep track of the one Scott in it.”
“It isn’t that,” she said, “and don’t you smart-mouth me, I am not very ‘ppreciative of that”
“Okay, what is it then?”
“They’re closing down.”
“Why?” asked a now confused and angry Scott.
“They are out of money Scott.”
“They can’t do anything about it?” he asked.
“I’m afraid not, they haven’t paid bills in a while.”
“Well, can we at least go see them one more time?” he asked desperately.
“I am afraid not we are already late enough.”
Then they started to drive away. For the most part it was silent the only sound being Ms. Sherman gulping down her big gulp. As they reached their small airport she finally said:
“Scott, I have something to tell you.”
“What?” he said with an apathetic tone. He didn’t think anything of the news to come at this point, because he didn’t feel that anything worse could happen today.
She continued, “I lost the money Scott. I gambled it all away, now we are dirt poor and I don’t know what to do.
P.S. i know that it is formatted incorrectly and i will chnge that later but is the plot good so far?
Question #4:
Speeding Ticket, no previous record, LICENSE REVOKED?
I am 19 years old, I have never been pulled over and have never had a previous record. Recently I was put in a bad situation where I was on a freeway in Wooster, Ohio. I was going the speed limit (65) and was about to pass a semi-truck and so I got in the left lane. As I went to pass I noticed a car coming up very quickly in my rear view mirror in the left lane. I thought this car was close to hitting me so i slowly began speeding up to just get back in the left lane. At this point I couldnt even see the headlights of the car behind me because they were so close. I hit the gas and hurried up to get in thre right lane. Unfortunately, an officer clocked me going 95 mph, and another person(either the guy behind me or the guy behind him) also got pulled over at the same time as me but by another officer. I do not believe I was really going that quickly but he picked me up with a laser. The officer was nice but gave me a citation. He told me that I DID NOT have to appear in court, but if I wanted to that the address was at the bottom of the ticket. To plead my case for the bad situation i was in, I decided to attend court. The ticket was given to me on April 4th, 2010. On April 11th the officer called me and said that instead of having the court date on the 14th that it is now the 13th. Without arguing about how late of notice this was, I agreed and said I'd show up on that day.In court I told the judge just about everything I could remember. I pleaded No Contest and explained my story. Afterwards he asked if I go to school. I told him yes, I am full time in college and work two jobs. I was very nice and he knew I had no previous record. Within not even a minute he said your fee will be $220 and your licensed will be revoked for 6 MONTHS. I am in complete and utter shock. Despite the fact that I pay for my college and work full time AND have two jobs and took my license. Despite the terrible situation i was put in I feel this is unjustly and that there has to be SOMETHING I can do. I was told to write a letter to the judge of my school and work schedule, all of which will constantly change over the next 6 months, and then, MAYBE, he will grant me the opportunity to drive ONLY to school and work.
Sorry this is so long.. but I need advice or someone who knows about this stuff. Has anyone been in a situation such as this or know anyone that has? Does anyone know what I could do now that I have been found "guilty?" Any information would be greatly appreciated.
ohh, forgot to add this to the already long story..
I absolutely do not believe I was going 95. Had a GPS that said my average speed from this 4 hour trip was 68 mpg. I believe the cop clocked the car behind me since he was literally riding my tail
once again.. the car was just feet behind me, the cop clocked both of us hundreds of feet away. chances are the cops laser got the guy behind me. my gps said my average speed was 68mph. i asked for advice not a bunch of dicks.

What do you call those puzzles? Going to be tricky to explain...?
I remember back in High School we had a teacher who would give us these puzzles/riddles.It would have a chart with (for example) Five peoples names, five vehicles, five colors for those vehicles, and five locations.
There would be clues saying that:
Joe didnt' drive the Red or Blue car.
The Pickup truck wasn't driven by Chad
The person who drove the Pontiac didn't drive to Ohio.
You had to figure out who/what associated with the others.
I'm trying to find some of these things, but it's hard when I don't know what they're called....hopefully somebody is familiar.
Thanks for any help.
I guess that makes too much sense. Ha.

Question #9:
my house burnt down on july 4th, and my parents are getting a divorce. advice please?
I'm 14 years old, a freshman now, here's my story. On july 3rd, my little brothers were playing in the backyard with fireworks, my oldest brother is 12 so my parents let him light the fireworks alone and with my other brothers. That afternoon, we left to go to our beach house for a 4th of july weekend vacation.
The next morning my mom started getting calls at like 7 in the morning and she didnt know any of the numbers so she ignored the calls. Soon after that, my mom's good friend called her and told her to stay calm, because our house was on fire.
My mom was crying hysterically and my 3 younger brothers, 6, 9, and 12 years old, were in shock and so was I. So we hopped in the car to go back home, it was a 2 hour drive. We pulled up to our house and there were fire trucks and lots of people, my best friends were there and i ran to them and started sobbing as i watched the firefighters put out the last of the fire. We were told that the whole house burnt down and EVERYTHING was gone.
The firefighters investigated and told us that one of the fireworks my brother lit off, landed in a barkchip path and was smoldering all through the day and night. After the barkchips caught fire, they lit our ceder shed to flames which spread to our house.
As of right now, I moved to Portland and I'm going to a brand new high school without my best friends. I dont get along with anyone even half as good as i got along with my best friends :(
My parents are also going through a divorce right now and my mom recently met a guy on Facebook who lived in Ohio, then he flew out here to see her, and they slept together. It's pretty fucked up.
My parents are making me go to counseling but i hate it and it doesnt help, it just reminds me of all the past i dont want to think about.
Now im never happy and i feel empty. Everyday i wake up thinking I'm in my old house, but im not.
And i've had extremely depressing dreams.
In one of my dreams, im with my best friends and they told me they had a surprise for me so they put a blindfold on me, and walked me somewhere. They took the blindfold off and around me were all of my friends, family, neighbors, and firefighters. One of my best friends said "it took a while, but this is for you and your family". I was standing right in front of my house, but it looked like the fire never even happened. I walked up to the front door and opened it, to the right were our backpacks and shoes thrown in a messy pile on the floor. I slowly walked up the stairs while looking around at everything I had missed so much, everything that felt like home was all around me. I walked to my room and slowly opened the door. there were clothes all over the floor and it was messy, just like id left it. there was my makeup next to my mirror, my posters on the wall, and drawings and memories my best friends and i had made over the past few years that meant the world to me. I ran and jumped onto my messy bed, and buried myself into my pillows, and started crying because i was so happy.
Then i woke up, and ever since I've had that dream, it's all i ever think about. I would give anything in the world to be able to go back into my room and jump on my bed.
I don't know what to do or what to think, does anybody have any advice, or just anything to help me out?
Question #10:
When moving from Ohio to Colorado, is it cheaper to fly and buy furniture or rent a truck to drive yours out?
At the end of next summer, my boyfriend and I will be moving to Colorado for grad school/jobs. Most of our furniture is cheap and can be replaced but some things, like the bed, computers, kitchenware, books, telescope... etc are high quality, were passed down, or have some other sentimental value.Would it be cheaper to fly ourselves, and the cat, from ohio to colorado and ship these few necessities than to rent a large truck to drive out ourselves where we bring everything? Keep in mind everything we don't ship in the first instance would have to be bought upon arrival.
Question #11:
Horse college and diesel truck advice! Please help if you have experience!?
I'm truck shopping for something more heavy duty to haul my horse and I found the truck of my dreams!!! The thing is, it's a Diesel truck and I'll be going away to school in Ohio. To be exact it's a 1985 F250 Diesel.I hear that you have to plug these trucks in when it gets too cold outside to keep them warm so they can start up, the thing is I don't know if there's going to be any outlets at school I can readily use whenever.
When the man and I were talking he said he never had a problem starting the engine and the trucks been sitting for about two winters, however it never got ridiculously cold here and I'm not sure how low the temperatures go in Ohio.
Does anyone have any experience with equestrian schools - how much will I even have to drive? Or with Diesel trucks? If so, please give any sort of advice!!
Should I go with the truck of my dreams or go for something more practical???
PS: I live in NJ and even though it's old the man redid a lot of stuff to the truck (the trans, shocks, water pump....)
Also! I am just hauling one horse for the time being, but I plan to get whatever truck I buy LAST to be able to pull two or more.... The diesel I am looking at has a 6.9 motor, no OD.... think it could handle that??
Question #12:
What should I do... diesel truck and college...?
So, I'm truck shopping and I found the truck of my dreams! It's a 1986 F250 Diesel. I need a truck with a big engine to haul my horses. Here's the problem.... I'm going away to school in Fall and I know that if you have a Diesel they can't sit, you have to plug them in to keep them warm during the winter. I'm not sure if there's going to be any sort of outlet that will allow me to plug my truck in while at school. On the other hand, I'm going to be an entering freshman so I'm not quite sure on how much I'll have to drive....
When we spoke to the man selling the truck he told us that the truck has been sitting for two winters and he never had a problem starting it or had the need to plug it in (I live in NJ and the past two winters haven't been ridiculously cold and I'm planning on going to school in Ohio... I don't know how cold it gets there....)
Also, how hard is it to find parts for a 1986 with a 6.9 motor? My dad suggested that if something happened I could always put a new engine inside.... but that's like 4 gran, isn't it?
The truck is beautiful! He redid a lot of things to it, put new shocks, a new transmission.... I love it so much!
I just wanted opinions from what people who owned Diesils! Get the truck of my dreams or perhaps go for a "wiser" more modern choice??
Question #13:
1979 VW bus transporter for a 17 year old?
Okay, I am a Senior in high school and I will be graduating in June, but come this summer I will be driving to Alaska (from Ohio). So, I am going to school in Australia, and I want a bus to drive across the United States to Alaska. I would be going with my cousins and we would drive to California, then to Alaska.
Now, do you think this is a good decision?
It would be a summer car and once I head off to school in Australia, my dad would either sell it, or it would be kept with my cousins.
If my dad did decide to let me have it, it would be within the next 4 weeks (winter)
What's the Mpg?
What's the likelihood of it breaking down? (%?)
If you think this is an absolutely horrible idea, than what is a good van/bus to drive across the United States in? (for say around 7 to 8 people)
the trip would most likely take around 5 weeks......
thank you thank you!
Oh yeah!, here are the two buses that I am currently interested in.....

I will be paying for insurance and gas, not my dad!
Question #14:
Can I Afford to Drive A Truck?
Now, I know a truck is probably the least economical vehicle I could get short of a tank, but I have always wanted one and by May/June of next year I will be looking to buy a vehicle. I am a college student and I drive about 220 miles/week. My question is can I afford a truck now or will I have to go with a gas sipper?220 miles/week
I make $9 per hour (under the table)
During school I work about 13-17 hours a week and in the summer I work around 25 hours a week.
I don't have to pay insurance (which I'm thankful for)
I of course want a little spending money each week.
I live in Ohio...Gas prices now are about $1.89 for me and in the summer it was about $3.90-4.00 most of the time.
The trucks I'm looking at would avg. about 15 maybe 16 mpg with my driving.
So what's the verdict?
One last thing my college is all paid for with Scholarships so I don't need to worry about paying for it.
Question #15:
Girlfriend question, very complicated?
I'm 21 and my gf is 18. We've been talking online for a long time (since I was 16 and she was 13). We're very much in love and have been for quite some time. We talked constantly on the phone and online and really got to know each other (no fakeness). She was finally able to fly down to California from Ohio.I picked her up at the airport last Friday. Everything was perfect and we are in love in RL as well. We're both college students, and her plan was to attend a Christian college 36 miles from me. We moved her stuff in thinking it was a simple check in and go situation, we were wrong.
On the first day of the "orientation", I went with her to get her settled. It turns out the drive there is a very annoying and long one (big freeway rip, about 45 min to an hour each way), and her college is in a crappy neighborhood to boot (which means I'll need to do 2 trips to get her to my place and back...which isn't easy on my gas guzzling truck).
Anyway, this orientation thing was hell. They gave her some type of "check list" that she had to bring around to different pointless rooms to talk to staff members. At one "check point" the staff didn't even know what the paper was. The campus is overpriced and very crappy looking. The dorms were built in the 70s and are extremely depressing/musty, needless to say she is miserable there.
We thought it would be a good idea to go from being states away to just 36 miles away, but when you actually meet in real life, 36 miles is very far, especially when you're a broke college student without much gas money.
She wants to leave the college and go to a new one, but isn't sure about which one to go to. I feel like I've sort of "abandoned" her by having her leave her home (albeit, an unhappy one) only to have her stay 36 miles away on some crappy lonely dorm that she hates.
She feels stuck between a rock and a hard place because she faces the decision of returning to Ohio and missing me, or staying and having to deal with the current situation.
The college is like a boarding school almost. It's extremely "structured" with curfews and "bible devotionals", "required peer activities", etc. Remember, she is an atheist/agnostic, she only wanted to go to this college due to the vegetarian campus atmosphere. She just wanted a casual place to go to college and be closer to me. She was drawn to the fact it's a vegetarian campus and they have pre-veterinarian med pre-reqs.
Our relationship is fine, we have no problems, but I hate to see her miserable like this. We've known each other for 6 years, and we've only had about 4 days to actually go out to various places (her college "orientation process" started).
This is not some type of "transitional phase", she truly dislikes the campus atmosphere and feels like she got into more than she bargained for. She was expecting a place to sleep and study but instead got some type of Christian "summer camp-esque" environment. Don't get me wrong, some people love this type of place, but it's definitely not her style.
She was aware there were a few rules and that they were a Christian college, but she wasn't aware that they had all kinds of required student activities and extra-curricular mandatory obligations.
We went from talking online all the time and falling asleep together on the phone every night, to having to phone through a dorm phone line for brief convo's and we get to meet in person but only once or twice a week due to the gas/distance. She's in the process of looking for a new college, but as you know, that process takes place in the form of semesters and is not instant.
I'm going to a community college and I stay with a relative in a very nice neighborhood. She had no problem staying at my place for a few days, but there is definitely not any room to make it long-term, and although my relative was supportive and compliant with her visit, they did also feel "awkward" that I had a girl sleeping in my room every night with their room not that far away.
Do you guys have any advice for me or her? I just thought I'd throw this situation out there because I thought it was interesting.
Question #16:
What are my options for entering the trucking industry?
I'm eighteen years old and I just moved to Wisconsin from Ohio. I have a clean driving record, a strong passion for truck driving, and I'm working at a truck stop making only minimum wage. I know that I can attend school and get my CDL now, but how would that benefit me being I'm still under 21?Question #17:
Does anyone know of any grants I can apply for to attend a technical college?
I want to go to truck driving school to get my CDL (commercial driver's license). Alot of trucking companies have thier own schools but the few I am interested in only reimburse tuition, therefore, I have to pay my own way up front. The schooling for it would be done at a technical college in Cleveland, Ohio. The cost is approx. $5,000.00. Does anyone know what Federal or state of Ohio grants I could apply for?Question #18:
Is there a way to petition the court on my own?
I would be talking to my lawyer about this but he has not returned my calls all week. So here I am. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way for me to petition the court on my own to be let off probation. I was sentenced to 3 years but only required to serve half of that as a minimum for my felony charge. I have served 2 1/2 years of it. I know my lawyer could do it but I want to do it ASAP because I'm wanting to go to truck driving school and go OTR. He was court appointed, therefore, I'm not paying him, so I guess I don't seem like a priority. The case is in the Court of Common Pleas in Lorain County, Ohio. If any one knows the answer or anywhere that can give me the answer for free, please let me know. thank you.Question #19:

Question #20:
How can I get out-of-state CDL Manuals?
I live in Ohio, but may need to get a CDL permit in Georgia because I have found a truck driving school there that I would like to attend. Before I go, however, I would like to look over the permit book/ CDL manual for that state, so that I know what to study, and what I will need to know to pass a permit test in Georgia. Is there anyplace online that I could go to get it, (free) or a phone number I could call to have one sent to me(free)?** Powered by Yahoo Answers
